Being healthy and beautiful inside out!

We serve an Awesome God. He forgive our sins but heals our disease too!
Psalm 103:3
Healing comes from our Lord.
The health and beauty tips shared here are collected and compiled from the net, heard from elders, read in books, passed on through generations.
The health and beauty care tips mentioned here are all natural/ off the kitchen shelf, made from fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs etc.
Need to remember..
Proverbs 1:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
So inner beauty is more important than outer. To have a beautiful personality we need to be beautiful from within and we sure can take care to be fit, healthy and look good on the out too.
Be blessed, refreshed not just physically but spiritually too as you stop by here.

Health: 24-Hour Water Fasting for Weight Loss & Detoxification

24-Hour Water Fasting for Weight Loss & DetoxificationWater fasting for a full 24-hour cycle once a week or once every two weeks is definitely the way to go if you are new to this practice. Try it out once and the success will increase your self confidence and often lead you to venture out to longer periods of fasting.
Such was the case with me.
Proper Fasting
Here is a method of doing one day water fasts:
*Decide on a particular day for that 24-hour cycle do not eat any solid food.
*When hunger strikes, drink a large glass of water.
*You can start, say, by eating your last meal at 8 PM and then going to bed, fasting the entire following day, and breaking the fast at 8PM that evening. Successful fasting has three stages: preparation, the actual fast, and breaking the fast. Each one of these stages is important.
Preparing to Fast:
It is very important that you prepare yourself both mentally and physically before a fast or you will find it difficult to go one day without food.
The mental preparation is simple, but very important. Do this:
*The night before the fast make a firm resolution that you will not eat no matter how much hunger strikes. *Taking a firm stand helps you stick to your decision. *Firm determination will give you strength when you are tempted to give up.
Physical preparation is also very important.
The day before you fast,
prepare your body by eating a normal amount of food.
* Do not by any means overeat thinking that you are storing food for the fast. This will cause very uncomfortable cramps and the hunger pains will more than likely be stronger than they would otherwise.
The Fasting Day
During the fasting period, it is best to limit yourself to light physical tasks and to concentrate as much as possible on introspection and spirituality. Use this fasting period constructively. Meditate on scriptures, pray or read inspirational books - spend some time taking stock of where you are in life, and what are some of the areas that you would like to improve.
These can be spiritual, mental, physical, social and even financial. It is often helpful to write a list of issues you would like to resolve and then use the time of fasting praying and meditating to receive inspiration and guidance. *If you are unable to take this "time out" because of an active work or family schedule, then go about your business but maintain an "internal" attitude of prayer, meditation and contemplation.
The way I accomplish this is by not allowing time to consume my thoughts but, rather, I make it a point to go from moment to moment - focusing only on what I am doing one second, one minute at a time. You will be surprise just how often we go about our day-to-day
activities thinking only of the future or obsessing over the past. This negates the present moment and can keep us in a state of confusion, stress and restlessness.
Breaking the Fast
Benefits of fasting can be truly enjoyed only if you break the fast in the right manner. Do not do like I did at first and break a period of fasting with a full-course meal. You can get stomach cramps and, in some cases, become seriously ill.
*On the morning or evening following the fast, break it by either drinking water with lime or grape juice diluted with water.
*Drinking lemon juice with a pinch of salt helps flush out toxins from your digestive system. Wait approximately four hours and then have some soup or light salad with lime.
*Please - NO heavy dressings at this point! Four hours after that you can have a light meal of poultry, salad and maybe steamed vegetables or brown rice.
*The next day you can resume your regular eating habits. Of course, the period of fasting hopefully will give you time to meditate on how you have been eating. It is important to realize that fasting only to return to destructive eating will limit the benefits. After you break the fast, make a resolution that you will start to move away from destructive eating.
This is not done in a day, and you may stumble much - but no matter what, keep going and never give up! Periodic fasting such as the one described here is definitely one of the elements of a balanced and sustainable weight loss program.

When must we see a doctor? (Received by e-mail)

Most of us tend to ignore pains & symptoms saying, " Oh, it's nothing." We need to remember that it's this neglect that will cause a Minor ailment to boomerang into major problems, which may need more time, effort & resources to heal.

Make an appointment to visit your doctor when you experience any of the following.

1. Unexplained weight loss/gain.

2. Unexplained tiredness.

3. Unexpected fever or cough that persists more than a week. Changes in bowel habits or persistent bowel upsets.

4. Severe recurrent headaches.

5. Night sweats

6. If you are feeling sick for more than a week, be sure to consult a doctor.

High Blood Pressure (Compiled)

What is High Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the force of the blood against the artery walls. High blood pressure (hypertension) and low blood pressure (hypotension) can both cause cardiovascular problems.

High Blood Pressure (hypertension), often called a silent killer, is the pressure of the blood in the arteries.
Blood pressure is typically recorded as the systolic pressure (as the heart beats) over the diastolic pressure (time between two beats).
A consistent blood pressure reading of 140/90 mm Hg or higher is considered high blood pressure.
Untreated, high blood pressure will cause heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, injury to the brain and eyes.

Common Causes of High Blood Pressure
Obesity
Lifestyle
Genetic factors
Excessive alcohol
Birth Contol Pill
Pain relievers
Other underlying causes may include:
Kidney diseases
Adrenal diseases
Abnormal blood vessels
Eclampsia / Pre-eclampsia in pregnant women
Thyroid diseases

10 Miraculous Health Benefits of Honey and Cinnamon Combo

by Jaison, Mar 12, 2008

The miraculous curing power of honey and cinnamon.
The magic mixture of honey and cinnamon is known for hundreds of years for their miraculous curing power. If we look back into the history we can see both these items used by different countries and cultures across the world for different medicinal purposes.

And the best part is that it does not have any side effects and most of the times can be taken parallel with any other form of medicine. Listed below are some of the well known uses of the combination of honey and cinnamon.

For Curing Arthritis

A paste should be made from one part honey and two parts of luke warm water added with a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. This paste should be massaged on the itching part of the body and the pain should recede within fifteen minutes in most cases.

Hair Loss
For hair loss or baldness, patients may apply a paste made out of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder. This should be applied before they take bath and keep it for approximately 15 minutes. After that they can wash it off with luke warm water.

Toothache
A paste made of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey when applied on the aching tooth (may be done 3 times a day) reduces the pain within a matter of 15 minutes.

Reducing Cholesterol
Take two tablespoons of honey, three teaspoons of cinnamon powder and mix in 16 ounces of tea, when given to a cholesterol patient, reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. Pure honey is also sometimes used with food to check cholesterol.

Cure Colds

For those who are suffering from common or severe colds, they should take one tablespoon of luke warm honey with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

Curing Infertility

Two tablespoons of honey before they go to sleep is what is prescribed by many experienced practitioners. This combination will work wonders for women as well. In China, Japan and other Asian countries, if the women who do not conceive, and or if their uterus is weak, then they have been prescribed cinnamon powder. Women who cannot conceive may take a pinch of cinnamon powder in half a teaspoon of honey, and apply it on the gums frequently throughout the day, so that it slowly mixes with the saliva and enters the body.

Stomach Upset
Honey taken with cinnamon powder also helps in curing stomach ache. For people who are suffering from gas problems, honey should be taken with cinnamon powder in equal quantities, relieves gas and pain in the stomach.

Immune System
The daily intake of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Researchers have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts and its use strengthens the white blood corpuscles.
Longevity
Ancient cultures used Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder for longevity. 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water are boiled to make this tea. The prescribed amount is to drink 1/4 cup, 3 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and slows down old age.
Weight Loss
Drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup water first thing in the morning (empty stomach). If taken regularly it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also drinking of this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body, even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
Side Note
These tips should not be used for self treatment. I strongly suggest consulting a doctor for regular medicines. This can be used as supplementary medicines.

Weight loss tip shared by Suni

Who said that if you  don’t eat much you can reduce weight ?
It is absolutely wrong.
Eat as you wish but do proper exercise.
Please find below the useful tip for weight loss.
Cinnamon and Honey formula for weight loss:
This should be prepared at night before going to bed.
1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to 1 tsp honey is recommended but can use more or less as long as in the ratio of 1 to 2. — so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey is ok too as an example.
2. Boil 1 cup…that is 8 oz of water.
3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour..(30 minutes)
4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.
6. In the morning drink the other half that you refirgerated…but do not re-heat it…drink it cold or at room temp only.
Do not add anything else to this recipe.
No lemon, no lime, no vinegar.
It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day…it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.
This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost…but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion…causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH) Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.
Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released…if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.
Hope this really helps you.
