We serve an Awesome God. He forgive our sins but heals our disease too!
Psalm 103:3
Healing comes from our Lord.
The health and beauty tips shared here are collected and compiled from the net, heard from elders, read in books, passed on through generations.
The health and beauty care tips mentioned here are all natural/ off the kitchen shelf, made from fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs etc.
Need to remember..
Proverbs 1:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
So inner beauty is more important than outer. To have a beautiful personality we need to be beautiful from within and we sure can take care to be fit, healthy and look good on the out too.
Be blessed, refreshed not just physically but spiritually too as you stop by here.
To Yeshua be All Glory and Honor!

Face packs

PORE SHRINKING MASK RECIPIES:

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.

Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.

Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size.

It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results. Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever make-up and a few natural skin care masks such as these:

* 1) Cleanse your face with a mild face wash.
Then splash ice cold water over your face or alternatively rub an ice cube wrapped in a towel over your face.
Cold ice constricts the facial muscles for a while and this action can shrink the pores temporarily.
Then pat dry. You can then apply fresh lemon juice over your face, that is, if you do not have an extremely sensitive skin which is allergic to lemons. Lemon juice acts as an astringent which helps to close the pores.

*2) Or after cleansing your face you can apply a spoonful of milk of magnesia.
Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water and finish it off with a splash of cold water.
This pack also helps with acne.

* 3) Egg whites are not just skin-tighteners but also excellent pore-shrinkers.
Beat an egg white.
Add a tsp of lemon juice to it.
Then apply it evenly over your face until it dries and tightens around the skin.
You may skip using lemon juice if you wish and use only a well-beaten egg white on your face.
Wash it off with tepid water and a splash of cold water.

* 4) Soak a few almonds in water.
Grind it to a paste with water.
Add 2 tsp of lemon juice and apply it to your face. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, then wash it off as usual. This also lightens your complexion.

* 5) A combination of ~
tomato juice and butter milk

~is not only good for treating suntan but its astringent action also works well to tighten the pores.
~You can even apply plain butter milk with cotton wool on your pores; this helps with freckles too.

* 6) Another recipe is to crush lettuce leaves and extract its juice, add a few tsp of lemon juice and apply it to your face to be washed off after 20 minutes.

* 7) Blend apricot and tomato pulp to a paste and apply this mixture to your face.

* 8) Papaya, peach, pineapple and orange juices also have astringent properties.
So using these on your face may be a good idea.

* 9) A sugar scrub might also help with open pores. Combine a tsp each of
olive oil,
Honey,
lemon juice to a
few sugar crystals
and gently rub over your face. Immediately follow it up with any of the above packs and/or a splash of ice cold water.

To get rid of pimple scars:
Apply tomato pulp every day and wash off after an hour.

Sea salt removes dry, flaky, dead skin.

Skin care tips...(Compiled)

Natural Ways to Lighten Your Skin or remove tan:

To a large extent, your skin will always remain its natural color, and beyond a certain point there is not much you can do about it. The most natural way, however, to lighten your complexion is to limit your exposure to the sun. Extreme measures such as staying indoors during daylight are unnecessary, but when you do go into the sun, ensure that your arms and legs are covered and you wear a hat or some other headgear to shield your face. However, what is more important is for you to accept your skin color and realise that beauty has not much to do with it. In any case, if people think less of you because you are not "fair enough", that is their loss. Unless you are suffering from some sort of pigmentation disorder, there is no need to worry about your complexion.

Lemon juice is very effective in lightening the dark spots caused by acne or pimples. First, cleanse the scar with warm water. Dab one teaspoon of lemon juice into a cotton ball and smooth it over the acne marks. Leave for ten minutes, then rinse.
Use caution with lemon juice because it can make your skin photosensitive. So be certain to use a sunscreen on any area you treat with lemon juice

A testimonial of weight loss....‏

Here, 25-year-old student Rohit Daga shares how he dropped 16 kilos in three months flat:
I always hated exercising, so when I gained some weight in college I considered trying an alternate way of losing weight.
I am 5' 8" tall and weighed 71 kgs at that point of time. Though it did not embarrass me, the "feel good" factor was just not there with that kind of weight.
So, I set out to drop the excess baggage. I do not like carbonated drinks, so soft drinks were the first to be removed from the consumption list. Then I stopped eating sweets, chocolates, cakes, butter, cheese and potatoes (and everything made from potatoes like chips and vadas).
I drastically cut down my sugar consumption; it just added too many calories. In addition to these measures, I would drink lots of water. I found that drinking about eight litres of water a day could do wonders for your body. Besides, it is a good way of detoxifying your system.
I love fruits; and so increased the amount of fruits and vegetables I consumed. Papaya, cucumber, tomatoes, onions and carrots became an important part of my daily diet.
In the evenings, I would usually get very hungry and I'd order junk food. That is something I targeted. I started to eat a cucumber and a tomato in the evenings; they have a lot of water and satisfy your hunger as well. I stopped eating while watching TV. What I realised was that when I eat while watching TV, I tend to eat more than was necessary. So I just cut it out altogether.
My daily diet was as follows:
Breakfast: Cornflakes and hot milk (300 ml) or 1 plate of idli (two pieces) or a small plate of papaya

Lunch: Two rotis, cooked vegetable, one onion and half a cup of curds
Evening: One glass of sweet lime or orange juice (without sugar), one cucumber (medium sized) and one tomato (medium sized)
Dinner: Two rotis and cooked vegetables
Late night snack: One carrot (medium sized)

Apart from this, I made sure I was not seated for more than 30 minutes at a stretch. I would just take a walk for two minutes or drink some water, which helped me keep burning more calories.
I also stopped using lifts and escalators. Instead, I started using the stairs, which also really helped.
Over a three-month period,
I lost 16 kilos and went from weighing 71 kg to 55 kg. So, although I didn't need to lose a lot of weight, the method obviously produced results

Disadvantages of Drinking Green Tea For Weight Loss:
1) Green tea is not a magic bullet
While some people will tell you that green tea is the be-all-end-all for weight loss success, I think the keyword here is balance. You’re not going to eat 5000 calories a day, drink a cup of green tea and make it all go away – it just isn’t going to happen. A healthy diet and increased exercise will go a long way in helping you lose weight and keep it off.
2. Be cautious of the caffeine if you have health problems
For some people that have heart troubles, high blood pressure or stimulant sensitivities, the caffeine in green tea may not be the best idea. If you’re worried about the caffeine from green tea, try taking green tea extract. Most green tea extract is made from decaffeinated green tea so you can still get the weight loss benefits without the caffeine.

Cautions and Suggestions about Drinking Tea
•        People with stomach problems should drink light green tea and only do so after meals.
•        Pregnant woman should limit their tea drinking –no more than 2 servings (4 grams) of green tea per day.
•        When you are starving, avoid drinking tea. Tea will enhance your metabolism and makes you feel hungrier; sometimes, it might make you nauseated.
•        If you are taking medicine, do not use tea water to help you swallow the pills. Tea may interact with the medicine.
•        Do not drink too much tea at night before you go to bed. Not only will the caffeine in tea
keep you awake, the water you take in will wake you up.
•        Generally, do not let kids (younger than 12) drink tea if they are not used to caffeine. If
let them drink, only allow them to drink light green tea and only during the day.
•        Do not drink tea left over from the previous day.
•        Try to brew tea in cups made of china, glass, earth pot or stainless steel containers. If
use paper cup, use specially designed cups for brewing tea. Do not keep tea in the paper cup
for too long. Drink it as soon as possible.
•        Never brew tea using foam cups. Tea will interact with it and generates harmful
substances.
•        When green tea is brewed, it should be light green. If it is brown or dark after brewing,
do not drink it.
•        Clean teacups or pots immediately after tea is served. Otherwise it is very hard to clean
them.
•        To maximize green tea benefits, do not add sugar to the tea.

Posture Perfect: Standing and Sitting

Posture Perfect: Standing and Sitting

"Sit up straight! Don't slouch!" Mom always said, and she was right (which kind of makes up for the time she told you no one would notice that pimple on your forehead and the kids called you "Cyclops"). But, despite Mom's admonitions, you may still slouch, wedge the phone between your ear and shoulder, slump at your desk, or sleep on your stomach. If you do, don't worry. There's hope for you yet.

First, what is "good posture" and why do we need it? During a live chat on Medicomm, Dr Sudhir Shah defined good posture as proper alignment of the body. "From a side view, your ear, shoulder, hip, and ankle line up," Dr Shah explains. "When this happens, the three curves of the spine are right along the body's center of gravity and there is no uneven pressure on muscles, discs, or nerves."

So, how can we develop better posture? Easy, through awareness and practice! If you train yourself to become more conscious of your posture and practice the habits good posture requires (outlined below), these habits will become second nature and your posture will improve.

* Standing: First, plant your feet firmly on the floor (no jutting your hip out or shifting from side to side), knees straight, but not locked. Next, take a deep breath and roll your shoulders back, expanding the chest. Contract your stomach muscles and press them back to your spine.

Your spine is kind of like an accordion. If yours is squeezed together, lift the spine up as if you were fanning out the accordion. Now, center your head right over your neck and shoulders, chin in (most people stick their heads up and out, like a turtle or a turkey, which strains the neck). Let your arms hang comfortably at your sides.

Take a moment to become conscious of what this proper form feels like. Check yourself throughout the day and, if you're not, take a moment to re-align yourself.

* Sitting: Sit in a comfortable chair with, ideally, back support and arm rests, both feet on the floor. Miss Manners may not approve, but do not cross your legs. Sit up on your "sit bones;" try not to slouch with your back bowed out.

If you're at a workstation with a computer, the upper third of your monitor should be at eye level so that you're not constantly looking down. If you type, use a copy stand to keep notes and memos at eye level.

If you are perpetually on the phone, you might want to invest in a headset, which prevents "Igor" ear-to-shoulder syndrome. Using a wrist rest in front of your computer keyboard, you can keep your wrists aligned to help prevent carpel tunnel (your wrists should be level, not tilted up when you type).
